Japan-America Society of Houston is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1968 to provide a non-political forum for discussion of issues between the United States and Japan and to promote greater cultural understanding between the people of both countries. The mission of the Japan America Society of Houston, Inc. (JASH) is to provide programs which increase the knowledge and understanding of Japan by Americans, and to encourage communication between the Japanese and Americans.

JASH operates on many levels; frequent programs examine art and culture, business and current events. The Society, since its founding, has become the cultural resource and clearinghouse in the City of Houston for all things Japanese

Every year, the Japan-America Society of Houston hosts a festival to pays a sincere tribute to Japan.  Located in Hermann Park (adjacent to the Japanese Garden), our festival provides access to volumes of crafts, a wide variety of food, continuous martial art demonstrations and an almost endless series of entertainment for the family.

The festivals are usually held in April of each year (for one weekend) and the average attendance is over 20,000 people and admission is free.  For more info visit:  jashouston.org
